New Van Project

Currently, the Hope Center Uganda is in desperate need of a new van. We use the van to transport children to and from medical appointments, purchase food and supplies for the center, pick-up and drive our caretakers to and from work everyday, visit resettled children, and to meet with government officials and other local organizations. Our old van has seen better days! We have done countless repairs on it (over $2,000 in the last few years), had the brakes go out a couple times, the engine has caught on fire, we have rebuilt the engine more than once, the shocks are dead on it, and it is becoming a money-pit to keep up in working condition. A new-to-us vehicle would save us a ton of money in the long run, and make sure that our children and staff are in the best hands when traveling around Mityana!

The current Hope Center Van is a 1998 Toyota. The messy, dirt roads and pothole laden streets wreak havoc on most vehicles in Uganda, and our van is no exception!

The Details

The total cost for this project will be about $14,000. This will be a new-to-us van with decent mileage and much newer parts and engine than what we currently have.

We are asking for your help to make this purchase possible and help us provide safe transportation for our staff and children! If you would like to support this project, please donate using the form on this page.
