Our Staff

The Hope Center Uganda has an amazing in-country staff that runs the day-to-day operation on the ground in Mityana, Uganda. The staff is made up of local Ugandans who have a heart and passion for children and orphans, and who care deeply for every child that comes to the center. We have a group of caretakers who are working directly with the kids all day and night, a chef, a cook, a driver, a social worker, and a director.

Our US team consists of all volunteers who work on planning fundraising events, communications, child welfare plans, financial management, among many other things. Our Board of Directors is also all volunteer positions, led by Steve and Barbie Wells. We make sure that our donations go where they are needed most: the Hope Center in Uganda!

Meet our Pastor, Pastor Jerome! He faithfully serves Hope Center Uganda as Liaison Officer and Lutheran Pastor at Fellowship of Hope in Mityana. As the Liaison Officer, he acts on behalf of the Board of Directors to help fulfill the mission of Hope Center Uganda.

Meet Our Purchasing Director, Andrew! At Hope Center Uganda, our operations run smoothly thanks to the dedication and expertise of our Purchasing Director. This vital role ensures that essential materials, supplies, and food are always available, keeping our programs and services running efficiently.

Meet our Hope Center Nurse, Sharon! Sharon provides love and compassion as she manages our children’s health with efficiency. Some of her duties include daily assessments and treatments, creating quarterly health reports for each child, making needed recommendations and developing individual health plans. She also trains our caregivers as well as developing quarantine and isolation plans when needed.

Meet our Hope Center Social Worker, Moreen! Moreen works together with the Ugandan officials to respond to calls about babies in the community needing help. She is also in charge of case management and support, family mediation and reunification, as well as advocacy and reporting.
